Formula used
Subtotal = quantity x unit rate. Tax = subtotal x tax rate. Fee pass-through = (subtotal + tax) x fee rate. Total due = subtotal + tax + fee pass-through.
Worked examples
- A 12-hour project at $125 per hour creates a $1,500 subtotal before tax or fee pass-through is applied.
- If you add tax and a payment fee pass-through, the total due reflects the full amount you need to invoice instead of leaving the fee math to guesswork.
