Formula used
Subtotal = quantity x unit rate. Discount = subtotal x discount rate. Tax applies to the discounted subtotal. Deposit due now = total x deposit rate. Remaining balance = total - deposit due now.
Worked examples
- A 40-hour quote at $90 per hour creates a $3,600 subtotal before discount, tax, or deposit terms are added.
- Deposits change the cash-flow structure of a project even when the total project value stays the same, so the quote should show both the upfront due amount and the remaining balance.
